Music Set Rattle and Castanet

This music set brings together a small rain maker and a castanet in a compact 2-piece format for first sound experiences from 12 months. Beech and linden plywood give both pieces a pleasant wooden character that invites repeated gripping, turning and tapping during calm play moments on the floor or at a table. The rain maker has a transparent chamber so the beads stay visibly in motion as it is tilted and turned. The direct connection between hand movement, sound and visible flow creates a sensory appeal that encourages attention and supports an understanding of cause and effect. The castanet brings a different quality of movement into play: pressing and tapping demand more finger control than a simple shaker. Together the 2 instruments provide variety in pace, grip and movement without overloading the set. The small format suits short music moments at home, in a play corner or alongside other learning toys. One piece can be shaken while the other is tapped – creating simple rhythm games, quiet sound explorations and repeated practice of coordinated hand movements.
