Music Set with Maracas

This music set brings together 3 first instruments in a wooden collection: a rattle, maracas and a castanet. Each piece produces sound through a different hand movement, so children from 12 months can shake, click and listen while discovering cause and effect through motion. The varied shapes also give little hands different ways to grip, turn and reposition each instrument. Oak, plywood, MDF and birch give the individual pieces in the set different surfaces and forms. The maracas respond to repeated shaking, the castanet produces a clicking sound through hand pressure and movement, and the rattle adds another acoustic pattern to compare. Switching between the actions keeps play engaging and supports concentration, coordination and a first sense of rhythm. With 3 pieces in the set, the instruments can be alternated in short play sessions without repeating the same movement continuously. The compact, hand-sized formats fit into everyday musical moments at home – whether one instrument is explored on its own or all 3 are laid side by side to compare sounds and movements. The set also works well for simple call-and-response play, passing an instrument back and forth and repeating short rhythmic actions.
