Montessori Stapel-Beads

The Montessori Stacking Beads set consists of 16 pieces in varied shapes that can be stacked, balanced and arranged by hand. Birch and beech wood pieces meet acrylic elements – so every construction combines solid wooden forms with translucent colour accents that stand out clearly on the table. Rounded, faceted and cylindrical shapes change how each piece rests on the next, making placement a visible exercise in control and observation. Some arrangements grow into narrow towers, while broader pieces produce flatter structures with a different balance point. The combination of wood and acrylic also supports shape recognition through contrast, as edges, curves and colours remain easy to distinguish when turning and comparing pieces. With 16 pieces, the set offers enough variety for repeated rebuilding without overcrowding the play surface. On the table, pieces can first be grouped by shape and then stacked into figures, towers or open-ended combinations. Quiet solo play, shared sorting and short shape-based building tasks all suit the open play format, from age 3. More about FSC® | www.fsc.org | FSC-C005308
